View "The New Metropolis," a two-part documentary series, by Andrea Torrice, about America's first suburbs and the challenges they face. The first part is "A Crack in the Pavement: Rebuilding America's First Suburbs," narrated by Peter Coyote. The second part is "The New Neighbors: How one town created a vibrant, integrated suburb."

Join FutureHeights for a lively discussion, moderated by Case Western Reserve University professor and FutureHeights board member Mark Chupp, about the series and what it means for our community.

Questions we will explore include:

1) Are the themes of each part of the documentary equally relevant to our communities or does one seem more urgent at this time?

2) How would you make the decision to stay in your current community or leave? What factors would influence your decision to leave?

3) How would you engage with neighbors whom you perceive as having different values from yours?

4) What are your ideas for ensuring that Cleveland Heights, University Heights, or your own community are places that people choose to live? Is there something you aware of that is being done in those communities right now that is effective and should be continued?

We will also induct four community leaders into the FutureHeights Innovator's Circle, and you will have a chance to learn more about FutureHeights and its programs.
